My happiness code
I believe I have cracked the happiness code, at least for myself. What is the happiness code for me Being unreasonable at all times?
a. Slowdown: “There is more to life than increasing its speed”- Mahatma Gandhi. We rush more inside our brains than outside- traffic, late for office, etc.
b. Meditate daily: Skip after being regular for a month. Feel free to avoid meditating when too distracted. If you have made it a habit in the first month, you will keep going back to meditate to heal and feel better.
c. Avoid conflicts with people and situations in life. Be sad, cry too but avoid overstaying in conflict.
d. Don’t overthink. Tough. I have to master this. But it is possible. Maybe meditation and turning 40 plus sooner helps.
e. Avoid arguments with anyone. No need to prove. Just say, “I disagree and maybe I am wrong.”
f. Travel as much as possible
g. Pick a hobby that is good
h. Exercise daily
i. Have a pet
j. Laugh with kids
k. Fall in love
l. Make others smile and laugh
m. Have a minimalist mentality but never curb your instincts. As you mature, your instincts will drop in frequency and intensity.
n. Manager your finances: Avoid long-term credit including credit card debt; don’t take a home loan; worry about earning well than to save more; Buy a health insurance plan for yourself and your family.
o. Avoid having plans. If you have one, keep it a secret.
p. Law of attraction works but supplement it with two to three positive affirmations for yourself stated clearly twice a day; anytime works. Do them whenever you remember.
q. Talk to yourself audibly and appreciate and respect yourself. This is more healing than being social.
r. Contentment is not laziness.
s. Master biases, especially anchor bias- Look at a day, year, or month as parts adding together so learn to transition effortlessly from one activity/thought to another in an instant.
t. Avoid longing for appreciation and popularity.
u. Have a job than a business and change jobs. You learn while being paid too.
v. Be forthright in what you think but be polite to state it. You may hurt someone and feel bad for yourself later.
w. Journal your life daily even if ends up in listing your tasks for the day.
x. Never stop trusting even if scammed. Trust is what makes us human.
y. Read non-fiction and research-backed books. Avoid fiction.
z. Build good habits and change them too while trying to win the bad ones.
